Collection at a(nother) glance

This group shot of all my watches together was taken back in September. But I couldn’t find the time to update my blog until now. The last day of the year! I wish I had more time to immerse myself in the things I am interested in. But the harsh reality of life is that I have to work seven days a week to make ends meet. And it’s usually when I am totally burnt that I decide to put all work aside and let myself write something which is not work related.

My first blog post was titled “Collection at a glance” so I see it fit to christen this post after it. Here’s the collection at a(nother) glance…



You won’t believe how much joy this simple photograph brings me. Over the years I have developed the habit of keeping only two watches home and entrusting the rest to the relative safety of the banks. That means I have never had the opportunity to appreciate the presence of all my watches together.

Then one day I felt the sudden, inexplicable urge to take this shot. I went out of the way and bring them all home just for one night, took the time to arrange them and sat there, admiring their collective charm. I can’t help but smile every time I see this group shot on my laptop wallpaper. It’s milestone of sort, showing how my collection has grown in breadth and depth from where it was three years ago.

I wonder how I have managed to come this far when all the odds were (and still are) against me.
